Quick answers about how your profile, visibility, and matching actually work on KnownBench.
How do I get on KnownBench?
KnownBench is invite-only. You need an invite from a Portal Admin before you can build a profile or appear anywhere in the network - there's no open signup.
What happens right after I accept my invite?
A short setup wizard collects your basic profile info, then you land on your dashboard. Nothing about your profile is visible to any company yet - that only happens through the visibility rules below.
What should I fill in on my Profile?
Desired role, hourly rate + currency, availability date and notice, location, engagement model (e.g. incorporated vs. individual), countries you're eligible to work in, Workday modules worked, and tenant experience tags. All of it is editable any time via Edit.
Who actually sees my Profile?
Only companies that have an active or expiring Engagement Window with you, plus - if you're marked bench-visible in the general network - any company browsing.
How do I add a certification?
Credentials → + Add certification, pick the module, add an optional detail, Save.
Why does my new certification say "Verification pending"?
Every self-reported certification starts pending. A Portal Admin manually confirms it before it shows as Verified - there's no automatic verification today.
Is my work history pulled from LinkedIn or a resume?
No. Experience is entered directly by you on this screen - it's the only source of work history companies see, nothing is imported automatically.
What does the match score on a role mean?
Each score reflects that specific role's Fit Criteria: whether you clear the required certification gate, how your module tenure compares to the stated minimum, and whether your tenant experience fits. It's not a black-box number.
What is an Engagement Window?
A time-boxed grant of visibility to one specific company - not a standing connection. It expires automatically unless both sides reconfirm.
How does a company see my profile in the first place?
Either a company invites you directly against a role, or - if General bench visibility is turned on (Engagements screen) - a company opens a general engagement window when browsing. Turn it off any time to stop being discoverable that way.
Can I be visible to just one company and nobody else?
Yes. Turn General bench visibility off on the Engagements screen and you'll only show up to companies you have an actual Engagement Window with - no one else can see you.
Where do I turn General bench visibility on or off?
Engagements → General bench visibility → Turn on / Turn off, then confirm. This only controls whether companies can discover you in Browse without a direct invite - it doesn't affect Engagement Windows you're already in.
Who can see my Compliance section (legal name, incorporation, eligibility)?
Only companies with an active Engagement Window - it's hidden from the wider network entirely, and hidden again once a window expires.
What does "Pause my visibility" actually do?
It temporarily hides you from Browse and any new general bench engagement window while you're not taking on new work. It does not end Engagement Windows you're already in - companies already engaged with you still see you.
How do I change my password?
Settings → Account → enter a new password (at least 8 characters) → Change password.
Can I control which notifications I get?
Yes, under Settings → Notification preferences.
